I just started a 5 day challenge workout series today after a long break from working out. I had endured a heartbreaking event that left me barely grasping onto my mental and emotional health. As my emotions took a nasty turn, I had to overcome a bad sinus infection, then later a pretty bad allergic reaction to poison ivy from yard work. This was a wake up call for me to align my energy again and take my power back after taking a break. Rest time was complete and it was now time to grab life by the balls again.
Usually in times like those where I feel an internal struggle, working out helps the most. But this time, my body and mind requested rest. It was unusual for me, but I listened to it, albeit reluctantly. Naturally, my body let me know when rest time was done by alerting me with health reactions. Now, I am feeling resilient, willful, motivated and in control, and decided to get back to a workout routine structure. When I felt that internal switch, my health returned physically and aligned with my mental power. After completing today's workout, I feel SO much better. Its like a natural high and I'm incredibly thankful!
I'm always amazed by the connection between the mind, body, and soul.
I hope this serves as a reminder to all to always listen to your needs, mentally, physically, and emotionally, and to honor the soul by catering to whatever your needs may be. Blessings to all, enjoy the rest of your day!
