Yesterday was my birthday and to celebrate what my body can do, I had decided, at the beginning of the month, to celebrate by doing a 1000 cal workout (as I did last year). My original plan was to do it before my birthday, during the week, but this workweek was so intelectually challenging that I simply wasn't in the right kind of mind set for this kind of undertaking. So I did it today, as the first workout in this new year of my life.
And I finished. My breaks were a little longer, the weights I lifted a little lighter, I did the workout low impact (apartment building neighbors below) and still needed to motify a bit, but I did it. My legs are still shaking (and hour later), my arms are starting to feel sore and I wonder if I will be able to move tomorrow. But I did it. Yes! It feels so nice to be able to push myself so much that I can finish a workout like this.
