losing my grip, what to turn to for support

Hi FB Fam! My 50 year old hands are having a hard time holding the deadlift bar at the weight I need to challenge my legs. I haven't tried the alternate grip but I wonder if that would feel awkward. Any suggestions for whether to try straps or anything else? I don't want to have to limit my weight because my hands can't take it anymore!
