Hi everyone! I want to take some time to brag about some progress I noticed when I went kayaking yesterday.
I’m very much a newbie at it: I only go a couple times a year and it’s been 2 years since I last went. I was joking that I was glad I remembered how to use the paddle!
Anyway, in times past, I’ve enjoyed it but by the end of the day my arms and shoulders were kinda yelling at the strain I put them through. But not yesterday! Paddling actually seemed easier than before. My two friends even coached me a bit about using the paddle more effectively and getting my hips involved to power the stroke. Between that and the strength I’ve built up in the last year or so on FB I didn’t get sore at all! Even when we were coming back in off the lake and the wind was against us, I was able to use my power to defeat the current. In the past even a calm lake would challenge my strength.
