Daily Check-In: Saturday, April 17th, 2021

Hello Blenders!

It's weekend again and this weekend, you have not one but two ghosts haunting this corner of the internet. Tomorrow, Jacqueline will start the thread, all the way from down under. On this sunny (over here in the Netherlands) Saturday, I have the honor to talkto you about the things uniting us here: workouts, food and health, with a little bit of daily life if you choose to do so. With one or two pics from everything you love around you. A furry friend, an activity, a landscape or your favorite piece of art: you're welcome to share them here.

But let's talk workouts first. What are your plans, Blenders? Are you working out or will this Saturday be all about rest and relaxation. Some of you might have some work to be done as well. I have no idea what I'll do today. I'm currently somewhere in a Bermuda triangle between workout programs and challenges, where all the ideas to exercise and start something new seem to get lost. Whatever it will be, I'll pick something nice and simple. Not necessarily easy, but without compound moves. I used to love the workouts with those moves, but nowadays, my concentration is too bad and I always find that during compound exercises, my form is suffering. How about you, guys? How do you feel about compound moves?

Another thing that can be as simple or complicated as we want, of course, is food. The weather here is gorgeous, so I'll go for a walk, and a simple packed lunch will be accompanying me today (hello peanut butter sandwiches, there you are again). Nothing complicated about that, but I know many of you are much more skilled in the cooking department than I am, with my knife and jar of PB. Please share all the goodies that will come out of your ovens and your kitchens to your dinner tables. I hope everything will taste delicious!

That's it for me, today, Blendfriends, I'll leave you to your workout or rest day. Of course, not before I'll tell you something about my picture. It's a goldfinch, a European one (I know the American goldfinches look different), and I was thrilled to get such a close shot from this beautiful birdie. They are shy, and always sit in groups somewhere high up in the trees, and hardly ever come close enough to take a picture. But this one was a brave one, sitting a couple of feet away from me.

Thank you for checking in with me today, and have a great weekend, everyone! I'll see you again tomorrow on the other side of Jacqueline's ghost check-in.
