“Food for Thought” Feb 11

Hello beautiful Blenders,

How are things? Any interesting discoveries food wise?

I was thinking about intuitive eating and I googled a bit to make sure that I really understand what it means. It sounded a bit like I used to eat as a child. You listen to your body and eat when you are hungry, you stop when you are full and you don’t restrict anything (no diet mentality), just a relaxed approach towards food, without overthinking it. For some reason it became so difficult getting older and now I basically trying to go back to what it used to be before. I found those 10 points, describing intuitive eating:

The 10 Principles of Intuitive Eating:

Reject the Diet Mentality.

Honour Your Hunger.

Make Peace with Food.

Challenge the Food Police.

Discover the Satisfaction Factor.

Feel Your Fullness.

Cope with Your Emotions with Kindness.

Respect Your Body.

I personally like this approach. For me it takes the restriction out. Doesn’t mean I eat everything every day. But just to know that nothing is forbidden helps me not to feel so much pressure and just be kind to yourself.

What do you think? Do you practice intuitive eating, or do you think that this approach is not the right one for you?
