HKS (Healthy, Kind Support) Accountability Group February 10
Good morning, afternoon or evening (HKS) Blenders. I'm filling in for Maria today, who hopefully is feeling stronger every day. 🌞 It's a sunny, cold day here. I went for a walk in the morning ⛄
The thought I wanted to share with you today:
"Don't spend time beating on a wall, hoping to transform it into a door." - Coco Chanel
This is one of my favorite quotes because it has applied to so many situations in my life. I also apply this to people now and then. I can’t say I never get frustrated about anything anymore, but it does help to put things into perspective and to put less focus on the negative.
I’ve been thinking about the quote more often lately. Because I have a condition/disorder/however you might call it, I often feel the need to explain myself, when other people's expectations + me don't match. Or someone doesn’t understand why I have trouble doing something that’s not a big deal to them. 🛸 Which can be hard when you also get told to Accept Yourself! But I’m making progress in learning that, like everyone else, I have the right to be who I am and don’t have to mold myself into someone more "normal". Thought I might share some of my thoughts on this subject in case it might help anyone struggling at times with walls and doors (or maybe even windows).
What are you doing today and how are you feeling about it? Please share if you want to, I like to read it 😊
I wish you all some sunshine and peace of mind. And a great workout, a relaxing day with lots of rest or anything in between which suits you today.
