Nutrition is an Essential Part of Fitness

As part of our expanded offerings in 2021, we recently introduced a new “expert” category under the “Healthy Living” page of the Fitness Blender website.

We’ve always tried to provide a holistic perspective about good health, but now we’re bringing in the experts, literally, to tackle some important topics that you’ve been asking about and wanting us to cover.

We’ve had experts write for us before, but we listened carefully to your requests and are recommitting to this in 2021. We will be bringing you content written by physical therapists, registered dietitians, mental health professionals, and more. As always, if you have topics you’d like to see covered, let us know.

Over the past couple of months, we’ve put out 11 articles covering a range of topics from the perspective of an amazing physical therapist. Topics have included glute activation, taking care of your fascia, improving posture, proprioception, returning to exercise after COVID-19, managing knee pain, fast twitch versus slow twitch muscles, ways to treat and prevent wrist pain, and deep breathing techniques to manage pain.

The next major topic we’re adding is nutrition. We’ve identified two wonderful registered dietitians who will be helping us delve into some of the many questions you’ve been posing. Our first (new) nutrition article went live this week, “What Are Probiotics and Are They Good for Me?” In the coming week, we’ll have two more articles related to nutrition, so be on the lookout!

So, back to today’s quote, if you’re trying to become more fit and healthy, smart exercise is only part of the solution. Eating well, and fueling yourself in a healthy way, is absolutely essential. Just as with exercise, however, there is no “one” answer for everyone when it comes to nutrition, so you’ll have to do your research, try things out, and find what works for you.

Hope everyone is having a fantastic weekend so far. We hope you’re getting some movement in, eating some healthy meals, and taking care of yourselves with proper rest too!
