Daily Check-in: Friday, January 1st 2021 🎊HAPPY NEW YEAR!!🎊
Hello and a very Happy New Year to you, FB Fam!
First picture of the year is a bit of a symbolic gesture of good luck as these are those waxy berries from a Southern Wax Myrtle. You can make candles from the fruit albeit it is an involved and time consuming process. And then you burn said involved and time consumingly made candles around the new year for good luck. I decided not to go to all that effort and just admire and share the berries in their natural state. My wishing you good luck for the new year stays all the same.
So let's breathe in that new year smell and keep on breathing! And while resolutions typically happen at this time of the year and it can feel fresh and exciting and full of a firey determination, I've learned not to do so much traditional resolutioning anymore. Speaking for myself, it's always too much pressure and too much at once.
Don't get me wrong; having goals is great, deciding to live a healthier life is awesome! But it's also not practical to up end your entire life based on a certain date. Yes, a new year is a big one. A nice time to start/end something. But change can start any time. You just have to be willing and steady and mostly focused. Go in knowing that you will mess up from time to time and that's okay. It's all about overall moving in the direction you want to go. And never mind the irony of this message on New Years Day. Basically my dehydrated point is that if you have a goal or resolution, keep it mostly real like the food we eat. But also know that if you set your mind to it, you can do it! You don't need any equipment at all to do this; it's all you. And you got this.
So, with all my rambling, do you have any goals in mind? Did you have some last year that melted away or some that can be built on this year? They don't even have to be fitness related. Goals can be of all kinds.. That said, I don't have any specific goals so maybe I'm not one to give any advice, but I do want to continue being stronger and living healthy both in mind and body.
What workouts are you starting the year out with? As always, listen to your body and good luck today on your workouts or rest everyone!
And how about what's for supper? Salty, sweet, savory, something super satisfying? Supreme pizza dreams are coming true for me! What better way to open the year? ..Well I'm sure there are many ways, so tell me yours!
Okay, since Lea has first offered to be our first ghost (guest host) of the year, don't forget to check-in with her over the weekend!! But I wanted to thank all the guest hosts that have helped me out all last year be it several times or just once. So a big thank you shout out in no particular order to: Alexi, Anne, Coby, Shabnam, Storm, Lynna, Lea, Nana H, Kimberlee, Jacqueline, Kristina, Heather R, Magda (Chocolena), Koppakabana, Korse, and last but not least, Kim. Kim's the one that started all this and I've just been your substitute. Nothing can replace her originality. And if I forgot someone, sorry! And if you want to join the list, you are more than welcome! Thanks to everyone who has ever read or commented. You make this work.
Alright. Think I've made this long enough, so it's time for me to get on outta here..I hope your year is starting out okay. And if it's not, well, you've got an entire year to turn it around as I do like to live by these three simple words: Never Too Late. Because it's not. You can turn things around any time. New year or any other day.
Okay again; Take care guys. You know I'll be back on Monday. To start the adventures of a new day, a new week, a new year with you. See ya!

That said, I continue my healthy quest with a newer total body strength training session with Kelli: https://www.fitnessblender.com/videos/total-body-strength-workout-intense-strength-supersets-with-feel-good-cool-down
