Lateral jumps and broad jumps during HIIT

Whenever I do these types of jumps, it feels almost relaxing to me and certainly not very HIIT like. I don't find lateral or broad jumps to be very demanding on my cardio or muscles.

Since every other HIIT exercise typically has me wheezing, I'm wondering if I'm doing these jumps wrong? Is there a way to make them more intense? Or are they intended to be exercises for you to catch your breath?
