Maybe a weird question, but what does ab contraction REALLY feel like?
So I'm a 16-year-old girl and am relatively new to working out. Usually, I keep in shape by swimming, running, or regular PE class at school, but during quarantine I've picked up Fitness Blender.
In the workout videos, I often hear Kelli or Daniel telling us to "contract the core" or "keep that core tight," and that was confusing at first.
I did some research, and learned that it's NOT sucking in the belly or pushing it out, but more so the laughing or coughing feeling. However, it feels quite difficult to maintain, and I feel that I can't breathe super well when I contract my abs.
Is this natural? I've never tried to contract my abs during exercise before, so maybe my core is just weak? Am I doing this right? Any and all guidance would be super helpful, thanks :)
