HKS (Healthy, Kind and Support) Accountability Group July 31
Happy FriYay sweet folks!
So here's where the week gives in and the weekend very impatiently takes charge π Hopefully it'll chill before handing over itself to Monday again...
Here's a quote from mon cahier: "Plus tard, il sera trop tard, la vie c'est maintenant"/ "Later, will be too late, life is right now"
Hmm, why this quote, you may ask? π€ My ex-supervisor (who wasn't very pleasant, but gave one great advice) always said don't wait for someone to praise you/your work, learn to celebrate all your small accomplishments on the way. Well that certainly was a good advice, because in our PhD journey we tend to question all our life choices over and over again, but some days make way for small accomplishments here and there, such as NSVs in fitness. So that's what we'll share today, how do you celebrate, whether it's NSVs in fitness, or something else you've been working towards or something small yet unexpected, a surprise? βΊ
I've never been a crazy party person (actually, apart from movies, I need to yet meet someone in real life who is like that π). I always tend to feel comfortable with just a couple of friends at either of our places or when possible at a restaurant. Or on most occasions, when I'd like to celebrate something only I feel, I buy myself a chocolate dessert or a muffin from the awesome chocolatier here, mostly accompanied with wine (especially if it's a weekend) and that's my treat. Or give myself half a day's break from work βΊπ
How about you? Do you find yourself fine in large gatherings or do you prefer to celebrate with close friends? π
Workouts: I did the last day of Pulse challenge (tomorrow's optional so π€). It was lower body barre workout and I loved it. My back feels slightly better and that makes me happy π It's predicted to be 40Β°C here by late afternoon, so I'm glad I got the workout done. For those who haven't, Pulse challenge was awesome pilates based pulse workouts. If you're looking for something similar, try it sometime.
Here's wishing our weekend isn't an impatient kid and takes its time to move. π
P. S. Anyone can check in, in these threads, it's open to all, even if it's just for a hello π
