I guess it’s an NSV... or 2 or 3?!?! Brilliant day anyway!
Weather forecast well-nigh perfect, so off with friends to one of our favourite beaches for a swim and a snorkel! (The same one I was going to last week, when my unfortunate fall ended in a pretty mighty gash on my forehead).
13k bike ride followed by a 40 min swim/snorkel, followed by a 20 min swim, followed by a 15k bike ride, hilly way back, (as promenade is out of bounds at that time of the day)! Even though I am by far the oldest of the four ladies, I was certainly not huffing and puffing the most on the uphill bits. And I noticed I was getting up the uphill bits much better than before.... NSV 1.
Snorkelling: well due to my recovering head injury, I couldn’t wear a snorkel mask, so just goggles and me holding my breath. Before lockdown my breath holding lasted four or possibly five strokes in front crawl. Today I managed 10 and even 12 and 14 strokes without coming up for air! .... NSV 2
Taking some stuff to the rubbish bin walking 500 meters or so away, I did not cover myself up with a shirt or towel as I would have done in the past. I just walked in my swimming costume, confident as never before! .... NSV 3!
I love my NSVs, however big or small they may be, they show “I am better than me before”!
