Just finished my first FB program! (Bodyweight 2!)
Prior to the pandemic, I was never able to stick to a fitness program or routine, and found that my fitness varied a ton throughout the year. I would go on long skiing or hiking trips and see improvement, but then do nothing for weeks and lose a lot of the progress I’d made. Or I would overtrain for a few days straight and then basically just give up from being so sore and tired. During this time, though, my partner and I both felt that we needed to burn off some nervous energy and wanted to leave this time in our lives with some kind of tangible positive thing. So we started a 4 week program, not knowing if it would stick.
We just finished Bodyweight 2 and loved it! The first week was hard, but after that it became part of our routine and we were both cheering each other on to get it done. We have both seen huge improvements in our mood, strength, and stamina. Even little things like being able to run up and down the stairs without being out of breath, or carrying multiple heavy grocery bags are so satisfying. I loved this program and found that most days were challenging (sometimes very challenging) but always doable with modifications and going at our own pace. There definitely wasn’t a day I didn’t sweat like crazy! I would highly recommend it for sure.
We are moving on to FB 30 next and want to keep this up even when things will likely go back to “normal” here in a couple months.
Does anyone have any advice for maintaining a fitness routine beyond the initial excitement and progress, especially with a busy schedule? How do you stay motivated?
