There is a big difference between pushing yourself and going through the motions.
We talk about this a lot, but it bears repeating.
To get the most out of our workouts and to minimize the risk of injury, we need to stay present, focus on form and range of motion, and listen to our bodies.
The better we understand the signals our bodies are sending us, the more confident we can be to push ourselves and to make the most out of our time spent exercising.
Some movement is always better than none, of course, but just “going through the motions” is not an optimal use of our time and effort. It also tends to be a lot less fun. Find ways to push yourself (safely), and you will not regret it.
