Today’s habitat management (AKA nature conservation work) started off in the rain, but all the regular volunteers turned up; everyone as always in a good mood ready to tackle whatever task was planned. The day’s description on the task calendar was: “leggy gorse cut and burn”.... Now gorse is not my favourite stuff, but I came prepared with two pairs of gloves. At lunchtime they were both wet through!
I am posting this, because at some point, as I was happily dragging large branches of gorse and brambles to the fire, I thought: “isn’t it easy to love life, when you are fit and healthy AND doing this!” Feeling so blessed to be back to “loving life” after my rib injury and my knee injury!
And now after our hours of hard work, sitting in my favourite chair in the bay window with a cup of tea and a view of the sea in the distance, what more can a person want!
Photo shows top left: our beautiful surroundings, top right: my rain coat when the rain let off and I was nicely hot and sweaty, bottom left: the volunteers hard at work, bottom right: definitely a difference!
Loving life....no wonder!
