I am feeling pretty good about completing FB30 R2, and looking forward to starting FB Burn tomorrow. I also did FB Reach (4 weeks) during part of the FB30 (8 weeks).
My PFT results were generally improved:
Pushups (from the knees) increased from 15 to 18
Squats (with 30 lb. bar) increased from 28 to 32
Plank (elbows and toes) increased from 3:07 to 3:10
Sit & reach increased from 1 1/8" to 2 7/8" (I credit FB Reach for this too)
But...I couldn't finish the mile. My previous time was 10:02. When I tried to do it this time, I got 0.48 miles and then got muscle spasms in my diaphragm. The pain was so sharp I couldn't breathe properly and had to stop and walk home. According to Fitbit I ran as much of it as I could at 10:04 pace if I had completed the mile. Apart from the PFT, I never run. But I do plenty of HIIT and thought I should have been in better shape for the 1-mile run! And since it was very cold outside, I did an extra warmup instead of just the 5 minute video. Anyway I was really disappointed.
Has anyone ever had muscle spasms like that? What can I do to prevent it?
