Weekend Warriors: Sunday, January 12, 2020 Check-In!!
Good morning Blender fam! Ready to check-in?
Today's photo is from beautiful Bryce Canyon National Park in Utah. Those spiky things you see in the picture are called hoodoos, what a funny name! Hoodoos are these small towers of soft rock topped by a harder rock layer which protects the structure from wind, snow, and all the other elements. Bryce feels like walking through an alternate universe where rocks are homes, palaces, and statues! This photo is from last spring when I visited Bryce with my parents and another couple they travel with!
Figured as we "visited' the beach yesterday, today is a good day to explore the high desert! Have any of you visited some iconic geologic formations? Please share below!
Speaking of iconic, what notable workouts do you have planned for today? It's a rest day for me, so I am tackling a 40 minute stretching routine with Daniel. What about you? Is it a Kelli day, Daniel day, both of 'em day, or a day for yourself?
And food? I grew up near a Moravian community, and they have these events called Love Feasts. It's an evening where the congregation shares a meal, sings hymns, and in general kicks back for a fun communal experience. Food is love, people! And boy, I love food -- as I'm sure many of you do.
On Sundays, I prep all of my meals for the week because I work pretty long hours M-Th. With the help of my handy Instant Pot, I am gonna make steel cut oats, some type of quinoa salad to have on lettuce wraps, and some daal, I think, or perhaps a simple lentil soup. I had an unfortunate evening with takeout (super oily) vegan Egyptian food last night, so I am motivated to make some super healthy, non-greasy food for the week.
That's it, Blenders! Thanks for letting me ghost this weekend, I've really enjoyed it! Make it a great day!
