Lower body strength causing painful muscle knots

Hey FB family and happy new year! I’m hoping for a year full of love and positive growth :). I have a question for you all. HAs anyone experienced painful “knots” developing due to heavy lower body workouts? Whenever I try to push myself with heavier weights, my left thigh gets painful knots about two days later. My boyfriend helped me massage a few of them out yesterday and it left me sore and discouraged today :(. I’m very careful about form and I use a roller a few times a week. Any thoughts or similar experiences? I’m really trying to grow stronger!

If it helps, I currently lunge with 40 per hand, sumo squat with 45 per hand, side lunge with a single 50, calf raise with a single 50, and do bridges with 90. Those are the moves I focus on!
