Hey there. I posted a few weeks ago about a situation with some renters and how I was missing workouts.
I just feel like posting this.
I have been working out, mostly with FitnessBlender, for about 5-6 years now. I have completed a few programs but was mostly a “build my own” type of gal for a very long time. I have been trying to complete FB Bodyweight since the Monday after Black Friday. I can’t stand missing a workout because then I feel like I can’t actually keep track of what progress the program can give me so if I can’t fit all five workouts into one week, I start over. With the renter situation, holidays, and all sorts of stuff I was having two huge problems - fitting in my workouts and my house was a MESS. It came down to deciding between either working out or cleaning each day. (I need to mention I also have a five month old who fights sleep like crazy.) Ny house was stressing me out. The renting situation was stressing me out, blah blah blah.
I decided, VOLUNTARILY, to take some time off from working out. I didn’t really set an amount of time. I thought I’d probably start again sometime in 2020.
This is huge for me because in my 5-6 years of working out there were so many times I wanted to take a break but didn’t allow myself. I have always had this fear that breaks would make me fat. That not working out each week would make me suddenly gain 20 pounds. Don’t get me wrong, I have taken breaks before but never voluntarily. During my pregnancy I only worked out maybe once or twice a week because I was so tired and at the end I wasn’t supposed to.
But here’s the kicker, I didn’t workout for two weeks, voluntarily, and I did not gain an excessive amount of weight. I attribute the weight gain to holiday eating really. I gained maybe a pound or two (who really cares what the scale says anyway), all my clothes still fit me, I’m not suddenly horrifically out of shape.
I started FB30 Round 3 today. It felt good. I lifted all the same as I did before my break.
Hopefully my break of focusing on others things will help me have a better routine of fitting things into my day that are important to me. That is why I have chosen one of the 30 minute programs for right now.
I just wanted to share this. It felt important to me.
