Daily Check-in: Wednesday, December 25th *MERRY CHRISTMAS*
Well hello there! Before I get to anything, first things first: I want to wish you all a Merry Christmas! Happy Holidays, Festivus, or whatever you celebrate! And more than just from the bottom of my heart, but from every which way; front, center, surround. A wish in 3D (maybe even 4D given the many different time zones to account for) because I've concluded that I'm directionally challenged.
A different kind of walk in the woods yesterday confirmed that very much. Luckily I had other people and a furry trainer with much more directional sense than yours truly, so it wasn't a big deal. Unless you take into account that it didn't take much for me to get lost. So let's not go into any more detail about that!
But on said walk, I bring different details along the lines of a neat little find. Emphasis on, "little" being this guy is a baby Eastern Redceder. And its showing off all 2 inches of its cuteness, totally ready for its Christmas close up.
Fast growing shoots and young trees of this species have needle like bluish green leaves whereas the older trees have leaves that are flater, scaley looking and a deeper green. More on that tomorrow. My gift to you this Christmas is keeping the plant talk to a minimum.. But you should know that this little guy here can grow up to be around 60 some feet tall. Now, decorating either of these size extremes would be a bit silly; I mean, you could try, but the goldilocks of these beauties is what can make for a pretty Christmas tree. Apparently someone thought exactly that last year, being they chopped one down and took it right off my property. They were certainly being naughty.
But I'm not one to dwell on the past. Let's look forward to fun and nice things; like workouts and rest! If you are doing the former option today, what form will it take? ..Some of us, myself included, got ourselves a fun ol' fashion workout party today. It's the last minute Christmas special to celebrate FB passing the 1 billion views mark. For those participating, if you want, feel free to reveal which 1000 calorie workout you did along with your survival stories and finish lines in Anne's thread/post here:https://www.fitnessblender.com/community/discussion/16264/last-minute-1000-calorie-workout-community-christmas-challenge-complete
Thanks for the idea to do this, Anne! And it's not too late to get in on the party! If and only if you feel up to it, pick a 1000 calorie workout of your choice and go to town! ..If you're hesitant to try one, just keep that modifying option in your back pocket. Also in your back pocket should be taking extra rest breaks if you need them. And you know what? You don't even have to finish it or force yourself to do the entire workout. Basically, modify any factors you need to make it work for you! And most importantly; just have fun with it.
By the way, today's workout is not meant to justify any kind of eating going on today. Quite simply it's just a group of us having fun "sleighing" some calories. And I can't think of a better group to sweatlabrate and sleigh with! It's going to be fun and yule certainly need proper fueling before and after the madness!
Which poetically and fittingly sleigh rides us right into the kitchen and all the foodie things we hold dear. What are we devouring on this Christmas day? You'd think I would've had this meal planned. It's a shame I can't use the surprise me button for my dinners. I'd pay extra for that feature, lol.. but enough about my lack of planning; what did you or are you going to eat? The treats and whatever it may be, let's read it!
Okay, time to put a bow on this check-in and wrap this up so you can unwrap the day and the gifts that can go with it. Gifts being physical or otherwise metaphorical as gifts can present themselves in different ways.
But whether you have a snowy white or a white hot Christmas, I wish you all a happy Ho-Ho-Holiday. Quite simply, have a good day. It's worth repeating.
