Sawing again.... yay for ‘a healing body’!

Nature conservation weekend: today working on the heathland “pulling” pine.... well, most of the pine was too big or too stubborn to be pulled out. Small pine saplings can fairly easily be pulled up with roots and all, but today’s ones obviously were not going to have that! This meant a lot of lopping (YAY for my healing upper back managing that)! But there were so many small trees which were too big to be attacked by loppers, so that we needed to saw an awful lot. I am really happy, because only a week or so ago, I posted about not being able to saw yet, because of my knee. Well...YAY for my healing knee: I managed a lot of sawing and with the area being really, really irregular, I fell over several times, once quite hard on my knee, but I was fine!!!! I also fell backwards into some prickly gorse....😡! And landed in a small gully full of water... but I “survived” the day! In fact, it was a super day again, with the best weather ever, lovely company and jacket potato lunch. Somehow those jacket potatoes done on the bonfire taste the best!

Photo shows one of the trees I tackled. A lot of the trees were that size and required quite a bit of elbow grease. Dragging trees to the fire on that very uneven terrain was a workout in itself.... sweat dripping off me like anything.

In the comments another photo: the area where we worked with the sun at the end of the day.
