A “mystical” place of work... Feeling blessed!

Today’s nature conservation work party took us to an area with gorse, not my favourite stuff to work with: the prickles of these bushes seem to get everywhere... even in bits that weren’t exposed! And no mater how thick your gloves are... those prickles hurt! But it was a super day! When we got there, there was still a bit of hazy sunshine, giving the area a bit of a mystical look as the photo shows!!! I thought it a bit surreal! What a privilege to be working there.

I was lopping and sawing away, happy that even the sawing went well, till our coffee break. Somehow after that the men (?) in our work party seemed to just want to lop and saw. So I decided to drag all the sawn off branches to either one of two fires for the rest of the five hour day.... I was amazed to see I had done 11.223 steps, 7.1 km. It’s not that big an area, but with me going to and fro I obviously did quite a bit. And it was not at all easy to walk around: sawn off stumps, mud and a hillside. My upper back is totally fine (YAY!), but my knee is letting me know I did a fair bit. Hopefully it will be better after a good night’s rest.

Photo in the comment shows the before/after of our work. There were 15 of us and the ranger was amazed at how much we had managed to do today. LOVE doing this kind of work....
