When people say listen to your body they're not just talking about your physical body. You have to listen to all of it. The body is an amazing machine that all works together. Mental health is needed for good physical health and good physical health is needed for mental health.
Just the other day I posted how I was losing steam. I was frustrated with myself and couldn't figure out why I was so drained. It was showing up in my workouts too. I was moving at a snail's pace. Everyone told me to take a break. So I did. I moved my next workout. Last night I went to bed earlier than I have in a LONG time. And today, during the squat jumps in my daily workout I got up there! Even when it was at the end of the routine.
Sometimes you just need rest. Mind and body.
So if you're like me and get mad at yourself and say "what is *wrong* with me? Why can't I do this exercise anymore?" Go do something for yourself. Take a break. Grab a Starbucks. See a friend. Refresh. Come back stronger because of it
