In August I took two weeks off and enjoyed my holidays in Berlin. Then I started slowly with working out. I rested every second day and septemper looks like a Swiss cheese :) Furthermore I did only low impact staff like pilates and strenght training, but no hiit was included.
Today I was in the right mood to jump in a real tough hiit cardio workout and what should I say, it just went smoothly. Of course it was challenging, but in a good way. I felt strong and full of energy.
So it is really true, rest days are part of the training. Give your body time to rest and you will be rewarded.
