I just got back from my vacation yesterday evening! I live in California, and we (my family and my BFF's family) decided to drive down to San Diego and enjoy the area for a few days. We visited the zoo, the Old Town, the beaches, UCSD, Balboa Park, and Coronado Island (above; apologies to the random ppl who got caught in my photo). I'm definitely considering attending UCSD now!
My BBF and I don't eat sugar or overly processed foods except once a month (and while on vacation). Everyone is different; I don't believe that cutting out one thing or adding another will always benefit you. But we've both noticed that we feel super sluggish and sick when we eat sugar, so we decided not to have any on this trip. We brought our own food and our own sugar-free desert. And although it was hard watching our families eat gelato and lots of pizza, I'm super proud of the fact that we pulled through.
Don't ever be afraid to listen to your body! It's worth it.
