I've been less busy on this forum during a recurrence of a chronic health problem over the last month, when I haven't worked out at all due to exhaustion. During the middle of July, I continued to push on with my exercise routine, but eventually it wasn't possible any more and I had to rest instead.
I didn't feel guilty about not exercising, because I didn't have enough energy and realised I had to stop for the time being. However, I like to work out as a way to help my self-esteem, and I haven't had that during the time off, so I have somewhat lost confidence, as well as the positive effects on my sleep, appetite etc. I've just lost motivation generally.
I'm feeling less tired now and have decided to begin regular workouts again, following the Low Impact programme. I'm posting partly because even though I love exercise and 100% know that I'll feel better when I start back in, having lost my routine and the direct memory of those workout endorphins, I'm still finding it hard to take the first step. I know other people here have been through it, and maybe some of you are in it right now; this post is to remind us all that it's so much better to be doing something small, than to wait around hoping to do something better.
I also want to shout out the Low Impact programme; I've looked ahead a couple of days and this level looks good for me now, so if anyone else has been fitter and is coming back now, or wants to start exercising frequently for the first time without killing themselves, this is a great programme for that.
New next stage
