#chefinthemaking came into my office and announced, “I want some kind of dumpling soup,” and then promptly left in the direction of the kitchen.
I’ve learned better than to follow after her, asking a bunch of questions. It’s best to just leave her be...alone with her culinary thoughts.
Some time passed, then came those glorious words, “dinner’s ready!”
When I got to the dining room table, I saw a bowl of goodness. This bowl of goodness.
When I asked what it was, #chefinthemaking said, “oh, I don’t know...shrimp wonton soup, I guess.”
“Haha. You guess? Well, what did the recipe say?”
“What recipe? I just threw some stuff together,” she said, without an ounce of hubris, culinary or otherwise.
Uhhh, okay.
It was amazing, amazing soup - whatever it was called.
