Strategy for enjoying kickboxing & juicing w/out a juicer
SO...
Typically, kickboxing bums me out prompting me to opt for a different workout. However, at the start of FB30 I committed to sticking to the program and only making modifications if necessary, not merely because the THOUGHT of a certain move overwhelmed me. Today's workout could easily have been terribly frustrating instead of wonderfully live-giving, BUT the strategy I employed was: watch Kelly do the move, pause the video, practice the move (which I usually mirrored pretty well much to my surprise), turned on the video and repeated the move at my best pace. Moving at my best pace meant I was aware of the move itself, but also attended to how I was landing (intent on landing light so as to not shock my ankle and knee joints) AND engaging other muscles (core, calves, quads, glutes).
I used only bodyweight the entire session and my arms were on fire throughout; typing this message feels like a burnout round, ha!
Ps: has anyone heard about this celery juice trend? I have no idea how I stumbled across it (YouTube rabbit trail), and it looks like it might already be outdated since several videos I've come across are from January LOL but I learned something incredibly valuable! Brief storytime: Once upon a time I wanted to juice daily but I found it messy, awkward, and time-consuming as a daily practice. I then purchased a Nurtibullet, but the pulpy texture of the green smoothie (irony) activated a severe gag reflex. I gave up. I switched to an organic greens powder which I now mix into my dandelion or english breakfast tea.
WELL, whilst traveling through the celery juice rabbit trail, I discovered a way to juice with my 'bullet! Key: (almond/cashew) nut milk bags! They work brilliantly! If you're interested, I'm linking a video below and a link to the milk bags (dear God, I sound like a YouTuber...) I juice in the evening and store it in the fridge to drink the next morning. Today is only my first day of celery juice, andddd I typically hate health food trends, but I'm looking forward to incorporating juicing into my lifestyle (finally) and I'm thrilled with how much more efficient this method is.
