The Dish
Shakshuka is a classic North African and Middle Eastern dish consisting of eggs poached in a savory tomato sauce filled with peppers, onions, and garlic. For our shakshuka breakfast pizza, we top whole wheat naan with tomato sauce and veggies. Instead of a poached egg, we bake the egg directly on top of the pizza, seasoning the entire flatbread with cumin and paprika before it goes in the oven. A lovely sprinkling of fresh chopped cilantro adds the finishing touch.

For the whole wheat naan, our grocery store option weighed in at 4oz (100g) per flatbread, serving one naan per person.
