The Dish

This is a super tasty side dish — perfect for partnering with Asian-themed main dishes. Fresh baby spinach is sauteed with sesame oil and soy sauce as well as just a touch of maple syrup (sounds strange, we know, but the maple syrup’s itty bitty sweetness adds balance to the savory ingredients). We frequently pair this side with some of our favorite recipes: Veggie Fried Rice, Cashew Chicken Stir-Fry with Bell Peppers and Brown Rice, and Stir-Fried Tofu with Eggplant and Mushrooms.

Hacking this Recipe

Feel free to use frozen spinach in place of the fresh spinach in this recipe. Although we're big fans of the fresh stuff, if you plan to use frozen spinach, make sure to thoroughly thaw and squeeze out as much moisture as possible before sauteeing.
