Post Workout Protein Smoothie- Strawberry Peanut Butter Banana Smoothie

Post Workout Protein Smoothie- Strawberry Peanut Butter Banana Smoothie

Healthy Recipes

Overview

This Strawberry & PB Banana Smoothie is high in protein, heart healthy fats, antioxidants, and other cancer fighting vitamins.

This recipe is especially delicious, thanks to a handful of frozen strawberries. It makes for great source of post workout protein and offers far more nutrients than most post workout recovery supplements.

The yogurt base offers bacteria that support a healthy digestive system and between the fruit and the peanut butter, this blend offers over 25% of your daily fiber.

The best part is that there are no mystery ingredients; it’s all natural!

Ingredients
3/4 Cup Plain Yogurt
5 large frozen Strawberries
1 Banana
2 Tbsp Peanut Butter
2 Tbsp Milk (a splash)

Add milk, yogurt, and banana; blend. Add the PB (smooth or crunchy), and the frozen strawberries, and mix again. This will make a post workout drink with a thick consistency; to make it thinner, simply add more milk. Makes approximately one 14 ounce serving.

If you aren't a fan of nuts, try the Strawberry Avocado Smoothie if you want to add heart healthy fats to your recipe.

Looking for ways to make your drink healthier?
Use natural peanut butter - There are many different brands of pb out there that claim to be good for your health that really aren’t. Look for a kind that has just nuts and salt, and you can avoid taking in any unnecessary trans fats or extra sugars.
Opt for plain yogurt instead of flavored - Plain yogurt is lower in sugar than flavored – by far.
